Gardening Volunteer

Location: North London (Crouch End, N8)

Are you a keen gardener who would like to share your time, knowledge and enthusiasm? We are setting up a garden here at the YMCA where we will be growing edible plants and some flowers. We want to encourage residents to spend time outside nurturing plants and learning about their natural surroundings. You would be able to come to the hostel once a week for at least two hours to lead a gardening session with up to ten residents. A member of staff would support you with the sessions. The YMCA would also provide you with a DBS check and travel expenses if required. Contact: lucy.brotherston@ymcanorthlondon.org.uk 

Bike Maintenance Volunteer

Location: North London (Crouch End, N8)

Do you know how to repair bicycles? Have you got an old bicycle you wish to donate to the YMCA for repair?  Would you like to share your time, knowledge and enthusiasm? We would like to set up a bike workshop to encourage residents to develop practical skills and enjoy the benefits of cycling. We would expect you to be able to come to the hostel once a week for at least two hours to lead a bike maintenance session with a maximum of six residents. A member of staff would support you with the sessions. The YMCA would supply tools and bike parts,a DBS check and travel expenses, if required. Contact: lucy.brotherston@ymcanorthlondon.org.uk 

English Volunteer

Location: North London (Crouch End, N8)

Are you an experienced ESOL teacher, do you have experience of working with or teaching people with English as an additional language? We are looking for a volunteer who can work with residents in small groups to improve their spoken and written English. Improved language skills will open doors to residents and allow them to access job opportunities that might otherwise be closed to them. Money Management Volunteer

Location: North London (Crouch End, N8)

Are you a financial whizz? Are you brimming over with money saving tips and budgeting ideas? We need your skills here at the YMCA. We are looking for someone to run a weekly money management workshop here in our computer room for up to eight of our residents at a time. We would run a DBS check for you and pay any travel expenses that you incur. Contact: lucy.brotherston@ymcanorthlondon.org.uk 

Football Coaches Volunteer

Location: North London (Crouch End, N8)

Qualified level 1 and 2 football coaches wanted with at least 1 year experience of coaching children to help run football sessions on Saturday mornings from 9.30am-12.30pm. Contact Paul on 020 8340 6088.
