Contract: Permanent, Part time

Salary: £14,561pa

YMCA North London is an independent charitable organisation affiliated to the national and international YMCA movement.

In November 2015 we were delighted to have been awarded the prestigious honour of YMCA of the Year at the YMCA Youth Matters awards. In addition, one of our Programme team members was awarded Young Leader of the year.

We want to recruit a Recreational Gymnastics Coordinator to provide an effective and efficient recreational gymnastics programme.

The Harringay club provides a range of sporting activities for both adult and children to improve their health and wellbeing. Our timetable has a large choice of gymnastics, dance, ballet, drama, yoga and martial art classes.

The purpose of the role will be to coordinate the recreational gymnastics program. This involves coaching within the existing program, being responsible for registers, all aspects of proficiency awards, organising testing days for all recreational classes and writing reports card and certificates.

A key part of this role will be communicating with staff and customers, liaising with the assistant manager to ensure all classes are fully staffed, including assisting with staffing rotas.

This role has line management responsibilities to volunteers and level one coaches to help us expand the program and the staffing team. This will include preparing and delivering one to one meetings as well as mentoring and helping to train volunteers to become qualified level one coaches. Therefore, experience in a similar role, or working in a similar setting is highly desirable.

Successful candidates must be qualified to at least level 2 British Gymnastics coach (General gymnastics), have excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to provide excellent customer service and be an effective team player, combined with an ability to work under own initiative.
