Sleep Easy 2018 Event Update
Date: Friday 9 March 2018
Time: 7pm – 7am
Location: The Parish of the Holy Innocents Church, 134 Tottenham Lane, N8 7EL
The Sleep Easy event on Friday 9th March was a big success, with £20,000 raised so far for the hostel, and still counting!
The group of people who offered to sleep rough and to raise funds for YMCA North London was 30-strong, they braved a wet night to sleep out in the grounds of our local church, Holy Innocents Hornsey. We are so grateful to everyone who took part for being brave enough to sleep out and for their brilliant fundraising efforts!
On the night Catherine West MP and Haringey Councillor Elin Weston came along to show their support for the cause. We enjoyed excellent food and drink, heard some words of insight into homelessness and enjoyed some stand-up comedy.
A special shout-out goes to the residents that came along and all the people who volunteered their time and talent to make the event such a success!
What is Sleep Easy and where does the money raised go to?
Sleep Easy is a fundraising event organised by YMCAs to help our young homeless people build a better future.
It entails sleeping out for the night to raise funds and raise awareness of the hardship young, homeless people endure on a night rough sleeping.
The funds raised will introduce new projects and activities for our young residents at YMCA North London to prepare them for move-on.
