Reginald Parkinson

Interim Chief Executive

Reginald leads the Senior Team in running the organisation. He has over 20 years’ social housing experience with 15 years at senior management level, delivering local plans and services through various partnerships.

Prior to his current position, he was the Chief Executive at YMCA Slough and Director of Housing & Support at YMCA West London and before that he held various roles within local authority and other registered providers. Reginald holds an MBA.

Stuart Sapsford

Director of Community Services and Health & Wellbeing

Responsible for the operational services at our Fitness Centre, Harringay Club and Childcare. In addition, he oversees Marketing, Communications and Fundraising.

He has worked for the YMCA for five years, firstly at YMCA West & Central Herts and for YMCA North London since 2016. He is passionate about the services that YMCA delivers to the local community, particularly the diverse nature of the many different services. Prior to this role, he worked for Hertfordshire County Council in a variety of roles, from commissioning of children’s services, to fundraising for multi-million pound projects and subsequent leadership of those projects.

In the past, he also spent a short while overseeing the county’s outdoor education centres. He has a personal interest in health & wellbeing and in his current role, he ensures the delivery of positive outcomes for the local community.

Edith Yembra, MSc, FCCA

Director of Finance & IT

A qualified accountant and a fellow of the ACCA, with over 25 years of working in Not-for-Profit, the public sector and in inndustry. Edith also hold a Diploma in International Financial Reporting Standards from the ACCA and MSc in charity accounting and financial management from the London South Bank University.

She joined YMCA North London in 2012 as Director of Finance & IT and Company Secretary and her role provides leadership of the finance and IT functions for YMCA North London, and oversees the finance department. The role is heavily centred on the accurate analysis of income streams, preparation of budgets/forecasts and statutory accounts, and ensuring regulatory and statutory compliance.

Emma Samuel

Head of Housing and Support Services

Emma is the operational lead for housing management and support services for young people at YMCA North London. Her role includes delivering corporate objectives, managing stakeholders’ relationships and risk management relating to housing and support activities and ensuring positive outcomes for young people.

She has worked in social care for 12 years, beginning as a volunteer at a local substance misuse agency. Her experience of social care includes substance misuse, mental health, criminal justice, housing and young people at all levels.

Prior to joining the YMCA North London, she was managing all of the prescribing services in the borough of Enfield.  Special areas of interest include Restorative Justice and Equine Therapy.

John Baxter

Director of Asset Management & Development

John is responsible for property and facilities management, including the management of service contracts, compliance, reactive maintenance, planned/cyclical works and health & safety advice.

He has worked within housing & social care for over 25 years at both a senior management and executive level. His core areas of experience relate to housing, care and support, property management, and business development.

He originally trained as a RICS Chartered Surveyor and is a member of the Chartered Institute of Housing. John is a committed Christian and has over 25 years of experience as a youth worker.
