Former Youth Matters winner receives further recognition

7th July

Frah Saeed, 2015 Young Leader of the Year winner at YMCA’s Youth Matters Awards, has continued to receive recognition for her work with young people and communities.

At an event last week organised by We Are The City, a centralised hub for professional women who want to progress in their careers, Frah was recognised as one of 100 female role models below management level as part of The Rising Star Awards, in the charity category.

This is the first time that We Are The City has introduced a charity category in the awards, that are sponsored by Barclays. YMCA England’s Fundraising team nominated Frah following Youth Matters. More than 800 nominations were made, with 28,000 public votes.

For the past six years Frah has worked at YMCA North London, currently as a Youth and Community Worker, and has actively engaged in international initiatives with YMCA Europe. This included the Roots for Reconciliation programme for stronger youth activism towards peaceful transformation of conflicts in Europe, South Caucasus and the Balkans.
